The Undergraduate Experience

The McIntire School offers a two-year business program for students entering their third year at the University of Virginia. Ranked first overall and first by students among the nation’s top undergraduate business programs by BusinessWeek, the School is dedicated to preparing its graduates for a dynamic and competitive business environment. All Commerce students complete McIntire’s Integrated Core Experience (ICE) and elect to concentrate in one or more of six fields:

  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • International Business
  • Management
  • Information Technology
  • Marketing

ICE is an innovative third-year curriculum model that integrates the delivery of core business knowledge and skills. A multidisciplinary faculty team provides a strong conceptual foundation, and students apply their new skills working closely with a corporate sponsor and in a variety of settings. The McIntire School is widely recognized for its commitment to innovation and integrity, bringing cutting-edge faculty research into the classroom, integrating technology throughout the curriculum, and a strong sense of community. Recently, the School expanded its curriculum to include specialty courses in finance and investments, strategic consulting, marketing, creating and managing growth enterprises, real estate, and global business.
