Professional Activities:

Mr. Ledford is a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest private equity banks. He is currently Head of the Automotive, Logistics, and Transportation group. He led the firm’s investments in Hertz, Allison Transmission; Horizon Lines; AxleTech; Piedmont Hawthorne; and Grand Vehicle Works. He is a member of the board of directors of Hertz, Allison Transmission; AxleTech; United Components; and Microcredit Enterprises, a nonprofit organization specializing in microlending. Prior to joining Carlyle, he was Director of Leasing for MCI Telecommunications.
